Coming off their win over Ohio State in last year's Big Ten Rugby Championship final, the men's team is gearing up for a new 15's season and another journey to the Championship. This past week marked the beginning of the team's four-week preseason training. The Badgers are set to face the UW Rugby Alumni side this weekend out at the Cottage Grove Rugby Complex. Accompanying the match, the team will be admitting four new members into our Rugby Hall of Fame. Bill Warner (1977-1982), Paul Stroede (1994-1995), Garett Donath (2008-2010), and Tyler Crass (2014-2018) will all be inducted on Saturday night.
The Badgers will play an away game against Iowa Central Community on August 31st and then play Notre Dame College in Madison on Sunday, September 8th. The first Big Ten game is set for September 21st with a home game against Michigan State.
For those interested in coming out and joining the team, we will still be holding practices all of next week from 5 pm to 7 pm out at the University Bay Fields. Players of all levels are welcome to come practice.
